Pudong Grade 1: The Science Fair

On May 7th, grade one students took part in their first Science Fair at SHSID Pudong Campus. In order to prepare for the Science Fair, students grouped themselves early and decided their topics after lively discussions with group members. Students’ topics were wide in range and stimulating in thought, including which brand of chips is the greasiest, how flower absorbs nutrition, which fruit can generate electricity, etc. In order to prepare for their project, many students made use of their free time after school to rehearse the experiment. After delicate preparation during the week, grade one students all presented their science projects both interestingly and logically. Judges and teachers were all amazed by their posters. Students also learned a lot in the Science Fair as they shuffled between different classes, eager to record what they had seen in other experiments in their designated passports. The first-grade students wish that there could be a Science Fair every day!
