Grade 6 Chinese Speech: If National Treasures Could Talk

May 9, 2019

On the afternoon of May 7th, the SHSID G6 Chinese Speeches on “If National Treasures Could Talk”, were held in the auditorium of the primary school. The students told their story from a first-person perspective and let the national treasures come to life. The first speaker, Susha Danyi, told her history in a humorous and interesting language, and the whole audience applauded for her. Then, the Jiahu bone-flute, the country Yuxi, Cixi’s Night Pearl, and so on, also compelled the audience. One of the most impressive was the Tibetan antelope’s speech, as she eloquently told her tragic fate and called on people not to kill animals and to protect rare animals, which moved the audience.

Following the excellent “If National Treasures Could Talk” project exhibition, the Chinese group teachers used this creative method to help students understand our national treasures and enhance students’ cultural literacy level. The speeches proved to be wonderful and all the students enjoyed them.
