Puxi Grade 1: Body Safety Education

In the Personal Growth class on May 8, 2019, the grade one teachers gave all the first graders a very essential lesson: a lesson about body safety, our private body parts, and how we can protect ourselves.

The teachers taught the students that a boy’s body is very different than a girl’s body and that everyone must protect his or her private body parts. No one can touch one’s private parts without an appropriate reason or permission. To make students understand where the respective body parts are, the teachers gave each student a boy or a girl picture and let the students cut and paste a vest and underwear onto the boy or girl. Now, all the students know exactly where the private parts are, how to protect their bodies, and what they will do if they encounter an unsafe touch. They must shout, run, and report to a trusted adult immediately.
