Grade 6: Visitors from Atlanta International School

May 6, 2019

On the afternoon of April 29th, the 6th grade non-native Chinese class and Math class had visitors from students and teachers from Atlanta International School in the U.S.

In Chinese class, the students from the U.S. used the Chinese they had just learned to greet and talk with SHSID 6th graders. Then they joined the class for a paper-cutting activity. Though it was their first time, they showed passion and curiosity for the art of paper-cutting. Within only a few minutes, the “Shuangxizi” (“Double Happiness”), which represents happiness and good luck, was presented to everyone.

In math class, they sat by the SHSIDers to tessellate shapes. They worked well with their desk mates and did a wonderful job. The students from both schools communicated a lot. We were very happy to see they made new friends.
