Middle School Biology Department：Wire Stars and Cupcakes

We had two interesting experiments in the optional class this week: wire stars with “memory” and “cupcakes”.

First, we twisted wire stars into different shapes. When the teacher put them into boiling water, the wire magically turned back to a star.

Secondly, we took a cup and added chemicals into it. Next, we stirred the chemicals and the liquid turned to foam. The foam rose and formed a mushroom shape that looked like a cupcake. The students were very excited to have these interesting labs.
