Puxi Grades 1-4:Chinese Culture Week is Coming

April 22, 2019

Chinese Culture Week is one of the biggest and most important events in SHSID’s primary section. This year, Chinese Culture Week will start on April 22nd. Its objective is to introduce traditional Chinese culture and history to all of our primary students.

The first graders will learn about the Forbidden City and ancient Chinese poems. The second graders will learn about the twenty-four solar terms in China to try to understand the great wisdom of Chinese people living harmoniously with nature. The third graders will recite ancient Chinese poems using the many different dialects in China to remind the students of how varied and amazing the Chinese language can be. The Chinese Poetry Competition in grade four will mark the climax of Chinese Culture Week. All the grade four students and teachers will share Chinese culture through these graceful rhyming poems by performing them on stage.

Chinese Culture Week is always a great way for all of our students to learn about Chinese culture, history and spirit. Surely every student will enjoy learning more about the country they live in!
