An Anti-terrorism Lecture for SHSID First Graders
On April 10th, all the first graders of SHSID Puxi Campus participated in a lecture about anti-terrorism and riot prevention as a part of campus safety, which was brought to us by Shanghai Angel Public Benefit Foundation.
Learning to protect one’s personal safety on campus has always been an indispensable part of primary school education. The course focused on emergency escape methods in the event of panic. What solution is correct when faced with danger? The instructors gave the correct answer: run, hide, and defend. When encountering an explosion, you need to lie down quickly, hold your head with both hands, and look for a favorable terrain to avoid detection. In the classroom, the instructors explained the theory and practiced the exercises, while simulating the ways to deal with different weapons such as knives, guns, and bombs and the correct posture while lying down. Under the standard action demonstrations of the instructors, the students also expressed their own ways of dealing with such emergencies. Throughout the lecture, the students responded positively to questions and participated in live events simulating violent attacks targeting the campus. Every student was getting involved with great interest in the lecture.
In order to prevent students from being harmed during school violence, students should popularize relevant knowledge and countermeasures. The lectures used simulation to give students a basic understanding of how to protect themselves in the event of danger, and the students benefited a lot.
