SHSID Establishes Cooperative Relationship with IPS, CAS

On March 28th, 2019, Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID) established a cooperative relationship with The Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Science (IPS, CAS).

Witnessed by SHS principal, Mr. Feng Zhigang, SHSID primary and middle school principal, Mr. Liu Lian, signed a cooperative agreement with Mr.Tang Hong, director general of IPS, CAS. Ms. Luo Hua, director of SHSID affairs center, Ms. Yao Shenghua, technical instructor-general of SHSID, Mr. Li Ming, deputy director of science and technology development and cooperation of IPS, CAS, and Ms. He Junwei, head of science and technology development and cooperation of IPS, CAS also participated in the signing event.

At the ceremony, Principal Feng Zhigang gave a warm welcome and thanks to IPS,CAS for visiting SHSID and signing a cooperative agreement with SHSID. He then introduced our “research and innovative” educational philosophy. Established in 1993, SHSID has widely accepted the essence of advanced education, with the goal of cultivating international talents with a global view and Chinese mindset. Finally, Mr. Tang Hong discussed recent achievements of IPS, CAS and expressed his expectations for future science education for students in primary and middle school. The IPS, CAS is in an ideal strategic position to conduct research and development in life sciences in China. Based on the principles of “resource sharing, mutual exchange, improving capacity, and serving students”, both partners will develop wider cooperation in the aspects of research projects, thematic activities, and practical student activities.

After the ceremony, accompanied by Principal Liu Lian, our visitors toured the campus and developed a deeper understanding of SHSID’s long history and rich teaching resources. Both partners showed that they will cooperate more effectively and solidly in accordance with the new contract by providing students with more opportunities to pursue innovative science education, accumulate new experiences, and achieve new outcomes.
