Pudong Campus:Reading Week

March 26, 2019

From March 18th to March 22nd, Pudong students celebrated the remarkable Reading Week. During this week, our students took part in a large variety of reading activities. Dr. Seuss is regarded as one of the most popular writers in the world. He has created amazing characters in his stories and brought a lot of joy to children. During this week, students read books with teachers in class and shared the excitement by participating reading activities.

Monday: Crazy Hat Day

On March 18th, the teachers and students at Pudong campus wore various “crazy hats” to school. During recess time, students read the book called “Cat in the Hat” written by Dr. Seuss. Our English teachers also made full use of their imagination and designed colorful hats to celebrate this great day.

Tuesday: Word Parade Day

On March 19th, all students welcomed their Tuesday with a special game called “Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt”. All the students dressed up as their favorite English words and experienced the exciting Scavenger Hunt activity in the afternoon. Every participant enjoyed this day by learning new words from each other.

Wednesday: Wacky Socks Day

Wednesday was called “Wacky Socks” Day. Students were encouraged to wear their wackiest socks to school. Some of the students wore shiny stockings, while some wore mismatched socks on purpose. Everybody showed their great enthusiasm and creativity in celebrating this day!

Thursday: Favorite Character Day

On March 21st, our students dressed up as their favorite characters.

Friday: Pajama Day

On March 22nd, people came to school with their pajamas and slippers. On that day, our campus was decorated like a “great home”. Toys, blankets and even pillows could be brought to school. Students were actively involved in reading events in our cozy and warm classrooms.

Although the reading week has come to an end, we encourage everyone to keep up good reading habits and become a lifetime reader.
