Pudong Grade 3: Where Are Diamonds From?

On March 21, during the homework time, the third grade students on Pudong campus explored the secrets of diamonds.

Mr. Amit, from the diamond company, joined our classroom to share with the students information about diamonds, crystals, and gemstones. First, he played a video about the procedure of processing the diamonds. He then presented diamond samples from each stage and samples of other crystals. The students were very excited to get a first-hand look at many different types of diamonds and crystals. After showing the samples, he explained why diamonds are so pricey and how to evaluate diamonds. At last, students observed the molecular structure of diamonds and samples of other gemstones and crystals.

This was such a great experience for students to have experts in the field visit our classroom!
