Grades 11-12: PTSA Meeting

On the afternoon of March 21st, the PTSA meeting for the 11th and 12th grade held its first meeting of the semester in the Xianmian Building. Director Liu Qin, Ms. Gu Ying, and Ms. Wu Chen (head teachers of Grades 11 and 12), as well as the parent representatives, attended.

First of all, Director Liu reviewed the activities of the past year, including the Sports Meet, the Science Fair, the Career Day lectures, and the celebrations for the 25th Anniversary of SHSID. In addition to summarizing the achievements of the various activities, she also thanked the parents for their active participation, as well as support, and emphasized the importance of maintaining strong parent-school communication.

Next, Director Liu introduced the various events for this semester. Activities in the first month of school have all received positive feedback from students and parents, including the International Safety Knowledge lecture, the company visits for Career Day, the Xingyu and Hongmei volunteer activities, and the painting activities at the Shanghai Botanical Garden. The Career Day activities that just ended particularly sparked warm discussions among the parents, who learned about the rich experiences of the company's visits from their children. Director Liu also introduced major events taking place in the near future, such as the Talent Show, the Mix Day, the Senior Graduation Ceremony, Go China, and the preparations for the College Application Counseling.

During the meeting, Ms. Gu Ying introduced to the parents how to effectively use the Blackboard system to keep abreast of the information released by the school. Ms. Wu Chen briefly discussed the current application results of the 12th grade and shared her experiences with the university application process to the parents as well.

This meeting proceeded with an excellent communicative atmosphere between the teachers and the parents. Parents were actively involved in the discussion and provided rich suggestions for the school's activities. They also expressed great support and indicated that they will fully convey the spirit of this meeting to other parents.
