Grades 9-10: Job Shadow Day at Coca-Cola

March 21, 2019

On Wednesday, March 20th, a group of students visited Coca-Cola, a company renown worldwide for their beverages, during their job shadow day.

The group arrived at the company in the morning and was warmly welcomed by the staff at Coca-Cola. After a brief rest, the employees began their introduction of the company. After talking about Coca-Cola’s 133 years of history—from its founding as a small store in Atlanta, to a dominant, worldwide beverage company—the marketing staff explained their strategies of promoting their products. Focusing on Fanta, they showed TV commercials and other routes to increase awareness of their brand. Students attending the lecture listened attentively and asked a variety of questions on topics ranging from their products to marketing and public relations. Next, the HR manager introduced the company’s recruitment policies and stressed several qualities they look for, such as leadership, and finally brought up the potential for a career at Coca-Cola in the future.

Overall, students attending this job shadow day had a lot of fun and learned a lot about how a real company functions and markets its goods.
