Pudong Grade 2: Reading Buddies

We love reading! In grade two at Pudong campus reading is everyone’s passion, and students are always eager and willing to share their books and stories with others. Therefore, Reading Buddies was born.

Reading Buddies allows students to become actively engaged with their reading and bring stories to life. Grade two students have partnered up with students from grades four and five to meet regularly in order to practice reading, discuss their favorite stories, characters, and villains, make book recommendations, and much more. Students have a chance to share their reading skills and favorite stories with older and younger students in the primary. This helps promote a love of reading and a chance to debate which books are the most fun and entertaining!

Whether it is fantasy, adventure, fairytale, non-fiction, or even poetry, students are given the chance to share their reading with others. Reading Buddies takes place every week or fortnight, and often students enjoy interviewing their buddies to find out more about their favorite books and reading experiences.
