Pudong Grade 3: Math Week Rocks!

Around the world, π Day is celebrated on March 14th. On this special date, SHSID also held a wonderful celebration. Third graders at Pudong campus experienced various activities during the week to learn more about π and feel the joy of Math.

First, during the math class on Monday, the students introduced their favorite mathematician to the whole class, including their backgrounds and academic contributions. On Wednesday, the third graders designed and painted their π bags in math class. They used colors to light up their math world. After that, they finally took part in the Math Carnival on Thursday. During the carnival, students got to experience diverse math games from around the world. At the end of the carnival, the students received sweet taro pies to taste the flavor of “π”. Last, but not least, the math teachers led the students to review and conclude what they learned in the past week on Friday.

After Math Week, the students were able to feel how math changes our world and how enjoyable math can be.
