Pudong Grade 2: The Piano Competition

At SHSID, one can find music lovers in every single classroom. There are certainly some in the second grade of Pudong campus.

The annual piano competition is right in the corner, and all our young musicians are fully prepared and waiting for showtime. Some brought their piano scores, which showed pages that had been turned countless times. The rest didn’t bring anything but a bucket full of confidence, as the rhythms had clearly been written on their hearts already. When the first sound came out from the keyboard, the music room was immediately quiet. The audience listened carefully so they would not miss a single note. Some of the students dove into the music with closed eyes, some tried to play an invisible piano in the air at the same time, others put their full attention on those participants and watched the musical notes dancing under their fingertips.

With the sound of the beautiful melodies, time flew by in the piano competition. Although not every participants will be winners, everyone had a great time with the company of their music.
