Puxi Grade 2 Chinese Group: The Little Fish Video

During the third week, native Chinese students in second grade learned a passage called, Little Black Fish. Although the little black fish and its friends, the little red fish, are all small and weak, they eventually work together to form a big fish to scare away other big fish.

After learning this passage, second grade teachers designed a fun activity: making the little black fish video. Students worked together in groups. They first cut out many red fish. Using a A3 paper as the ocean background, they presented the whole process of how the red fish gathered together to make the big fish. At last, the little black fish joined them as the eye of the big fish. Students used their iPad to record the whole process and they certainly felt the power of teamwork.

During this activity, the students worked together very well. Though they had different opinions while they discussed their plans, they figured out successful methods to finish the project. When they finished making the big fish, every group member smiled from the bottom of their hearts. The teachers hope that they understand the passage better and understand the power of teamwork.
