Primary Students Celebrate Math Week

March 11, 2019

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th around the world. Pi (Greek letter Π) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant and the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159. Because Pi Day plays a very important role in math, the week of March 11th to 15th will be Math Week in the Primary Section of SHSID.

During this week, all the first graders in the Primary Section will try very hard to understand the basic concept of Pi (Π) and the importance of math in their lives by playing many interesting and practical math games, such as Pi Word Challenge, Pi Scavenger Hunt, creating a Pi-line Skyline, and finally, making their own Pi-book!

Hopefully every first grader will learn and enjoy a lot in the coming Math Week!
