Visit from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences

In order to further strengthen the relationship between the research institute and our school, as well as further promote the development of innovative courses in the international division, a team of more than ten experts from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences came to visit SHSID on March 1st. Included in the meeting were Ye Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Labor Union; Liu Hong, Director of Women's Committee, Li Chuan; Deputy Director of Scientific Research Department; and Fang Ting, Deputy Chairman of the Labor Union. Welcoming them were Wang Hui, SHS Secretary of the Party Committee; Liu Lian, Principal of SHSID Primary and Middle Schools; Luo Hua, Director of SHSID Primary and Middle Schools General Affairs Office; Miao Xiaoling, Director of SHSID Admissions Office; and Yao Shenghua, Chief Director of Science and Technology of SHSID Primary and Middle Schools.

During this visit, Secretary Hui introduced the SHS educational concept of building a research- and innovation-oriented elite school. Principal Lian introduced in detail the curriculum arrangement, teaching situations, and the popular science education of SHSID. SHSID was founded in 1993, with an advanced educational philosophy, and SHSID has always been committed to cultivating international talents with an international vision and Chinese complex. Secretary Yang introduced some impressive accomplishments by the Institute, and expressed expectations of the future elementary and middle school students’ popular science education.

At the end of this event, Secretary Yang and experts visited the campus, accompanied by Principal Lian. They acquired some more details and intuitive understanding of the century-old history of SHS and its profound teaching resources. Through this visit and exchange, the research institute and our school have deepened our understanding of each other. In the future, based on the principle of "sharing resources, communicating with each other, improving abilities, and serving students", we will have extensive cooperation in project research, project activities, and student practices.
