Pudong G3:How to Become a H.E.R.O.

March 2, 2019

H.E.R.O stands for Honor, Effort, Rigor, and Ownership, which are the core values of the Pudong campus this semester. Every month we will focus on and strengthen one of the values to motivate the students to reach these goals. On Feb. 26, during our Personal Growth period, the teachers of 3rdgrade led all the 3rd graders in a lesson to explore H.E.R.O.

At the beginning of the class, the teachers explained the meaning of each letter, then focused on Honor. For a better understanding of the meaning of Honor, the teachers had the students trace the letter “V” on their left hands and letter “B” on their right hands. Students then followed the directions for the different gestures to see if the “Behavior” matched “Value.” Students learned that to show honor, their behaviors must match their values. At the end, they gave each other high fives as motivation.
