Good Book Sharing Winter Program

February 25, 2019

The Chinese teachers at SHSID pay close attention to their students’ reading of Chinese books. In order to further improve the international students’ Chinese reading skills, G5-8 Chinese teachers assigned “Good Book Sharing” at the end of the last semester. This program aims to improve students' reading and writing in Chinese.

Students used the holidays to read and carefully write a summary of their reading, as well as design beautiful posters of Chinese books, including "The Three Body Problem", "Tales of Hulan River”, “The Old Man and the Sea", "Sherlock Holmes", " A Brief History of Humankind" and “Three Days to See”. From this list, we can see that the students are fond of reading good books. Of course, the sharing of good books by non-native speakers is also a highlight for teachers. These books include, "Children in the Mountains" and "Wisdom Stories in China and Foreign Countries”. All of these choices benefit the readers.

The teachers hope that the students can develop a habit of reading good books to expand their horizons and improve their reading and writing skills.
