Grades 7-8: Series of Lectures on Ancient Chinese History

February 25, 2019

During lunchtime on February 25th, 2019, the first Ancient Chinese History lecture of the semester was given by Ms. Chen Lu in Room 413 of the Middle School Building; over 20 students were in attendance. Ms. Chen showed a clear timeline ranging from the Xia-Shang Dynasties to the Qin-Han Dynasties through a short video. She then further explained how geographical features shaped ancient Chinese civilization. She also introduced the role of oracle bones, which were developed during the Shang Dynasty, and explained how the Mandate of Heaven influenced the rise and fall of the dynasties.

There will be a series of lectures on Ancient Chinese History for the 7th-8th graders this semester. Students will be free to choose the ones they are interested in. The lectures will explore important figures and interesting events in an effort to present a comparatively full picture of Ancient China to the students. Please look forward to them!
