Pudong Grade 2: Special Red Packets

After waving goodbye to a bustling Chinese New Year holiday, Grade 2 students from Pudong Campus welcomed another new semester. Though the holiday is now over, the festive atmosphere remains. In order to make students feel the joy of the holiday at the start of the new semester and begin making new targets, the teachers prepared a mysterious gift: special red packets.

It’s exciting to receive red packets over the Chinese New Year, and it’s surprising and thrilling to be handed a red envelope from teachers at school. The students couldn’t wait to open their red envelopes. Interestingly, it was not money that was found inside, but gifts specially prepared by the teachers: 1 note of praise and 4 coupons. Each note contained new semester blessings from the teachers to their students. The coupons are a part of an encouraging scheme tailored to address the four main subjects. Hopefully, this will encourage students to treat each day’s homework seriously and to start forming good study habits from the very beginning of the new semester. When a target is achieved, students will be able to ‘cash-in’ the coupon and use its privileges.

All of the students liked this mysterious new semester gift. The words inside the special red packets motivate the students to make targets and try to fulfill them; the kind blessings ensure every single student that they will enjoy a nurturing and happy new semester!
