Grade 11: Winter Ball
The Winter Ball this year was held on January 5th at Mia Fringe, a location matching in splendor with the guests’ classy attire. As the night began, the atmosphere still was calm and collected. Some people went to enjoy themselves by playing card games, fear pong, and charades, while others took pictures with their friends — new and old — at the star-themed photobooth.
Soon, it was dinner time and the buzzing crowd lined up to get a taste of the tempting buffet. A string quartet performed songs while people enjoyed the exquisite meal, bringing the entire venue to life. Now, the atmosphere became much more vibrant as people began finishing up their meals. Light chatter erupted into eager cheers and loud laughter as the first big activity of the night began — the Fashion Show. 10 pairs of previously elegantly dressed guests now strutted down the runway and posed in outrageous costumes.
Approaching the end of the night, the lights were dimmed and the junior ASB dance began. 13 pairs waltzed around the stage in a well-practiced couples dance. The end of the dance was followed by the announcement everyone was waiting for: who would be crowned the King and Queen of this year’s Winter Ball? The results were out—Royce and Patan proudly took on this title. Finally, the dance floor was open to everyone. A few final cheerful dances concluded the Winter Ball and wrapped up the night in the City of Stars. Guests said their goodbyes and the chatter died down. All there is left to do is to patiently await next year’s Winter Ball.
