January 2, 2019

2018 marked the 40th year of China’s economic reform as well as the 25th anniversary of Shanghai High School International Division. As a school that takes pride in offering a multicultural, advanced education with the aim of cultivating talented students able to keep up with modern scientific and technological developments, SHSID’s goals are clearly aligned with the aims of the Chinese economic reform. In order to celebrate the occasion, the high school department of the International Division has taken the opportunity to have students create posters illustrating knowledge related to the subject of Chemistry. Mr. Ma was involved in directing the process of poster creation among numerous intelligent students from ninth to twelfth grade. All posters were to include not only the historical background and detailed summaries of chemicals and other knowledge pertaining to the subject, but also beautiful illustrations. The posters are currently on display in the lobby of the Xian Mian Building.

As a school that focuses on cultivating students’ scientific literacy, the high school section of SHSID is proud to present the hard work of its students in the form of posters on this celebratory occasion. China’s Reform and Opening Up was necessary for the establishment of the International Division and the success of Shanghai High School International Division enables further reform. As such, SHSID is very proud to present its student’s scientific work as a symbol of the school’s dedication to promoting further research and development opportunities for the children of the world, who will one day broaden and help in building China’s future.
