SHSID High School-The Third “Grass Cup” Forum

On the morning of Dec. 26, 2018, SHSID High School’s third “Grass Cup” Forum was held in the Xianmian Building. It aimed to promote communication between high school teachers on various topics in teaching and professional development. Over 100 high school teachers participated in the forum.

Four breakout sessions were offered to discuss the forum topics, which included areas of Professional Development, Case Studies of Students, Communication with Parents, and Teachers’ Development. Every teacher was able to register in advance and participate in two of the breakout sessions.

In each breakout session, through personal presentation, group discussion, case study and Q & A session etc., teachers were free to express their ideas and communicate with each other. In the professional development breakout session, participants reviewed the materials, made posters, and simulated the admission process under the guidance of Ms. Zhang Nan. This helped them develop a deeper understanding of holistic review. In the communication with parents breakout session, Ms. Liu Xiaoxue shared her experience teaching 9-10 graders for over 10 years, and she also analyzed the role transition of parents during this period.

We hope that through the “Grass Cup” Forums, more front-line teachers will be encouraged to share their experiences and discuss how to perfect the various methods of education.
