Puxi Grade 4: Reclothing Bank

December 7, 2018

During the CAS class on December 5th, Iris’s mom from class 4(1) invited Zhang Na, a fashion designer, to give the fourth graders an excellent speech in the auditorium of primary section.

Zhang Na first put forward a question: How do you deal with your old clothes? People either give them to others, throw them away or leave them in their wardrobes. Zhang Na introduced her Reclothing Bank program, which launched in 2011. The aim of this program is to transform old clothes into new clothes by recombination and redesigning. She displayed a lot of pictures of new clothes transformed from junk jeans or old shirts. As they were introduced to these special cases, the kids gradually realized that the purpose of Reclothing Bank was to preserve valuable memories and emotions. The fourth graders listened attentively and were actively engaged by this speech.

Parent talks not only broadens our students’ horizons, but also guide them to have a better understanding of what occupational groups deal with in our society every day.
