Grade 11: Personal Growth

December 3, 2018

On November 29th, 2018, the weekly morning assembly was held in the XMT auditorium. This time, Mr. Pardy and Ms. Echo Zhang elaborated on the personal growth program - a program newly introduced to SHSID’s juniors in order to help them further discover their true identity. Mr. Pardy started the session by asking juniors to design their own portfolio covers to encapsulate hobbies and interests. Mr. Pardy further insisted that juniors should put effort into building their portfolio by recording significant events that happen to them throughout the next two semesters. This is to track the development of their individual identity, which will definitely help them construct personal stories for college admission later in 12th grade. Then, Ms. Echo added that the content can be anything that can expresses the students’ identities—such as stories or particular key words. She stressed the importance of this project, and advised students treat it with seriousness. Her words ended this informative, important junior assembly.
