Grade 8: Connect-Five Competition

December 3, 2018

Recently, Grade 8 students were involved in the Connect-Five Competition and had a lot of fun.

There were three rounds for the competition: the first round took place in class. All of the students got involved, but only three students proceeded to the second round.

The final round was the most exciting. Students from different classes gathered in Room 410 to compete.

“Please collect your pieces, the game is about to start!” As the teacher spoke these words, the classroom became quiet, with the mood getting tense. “Ready, go!” The teacher announced the start of the competition. All participants began to frantically think of ways to connect five of their pieces, while at the same time preventing their opponent from doing the same; the people watching were excited. Some of the spectators knew the move to win but couldn’t tell the participant. Others tried to figure out the reason behind every move to gain experience.

At last, Lucy Lu from 8(9) won the first prize, Justin He from 8(10) won the second prize, and Yeonsik Sung won the third prize. Congratulations and we hope that everybody had fun!
