Grades 7-8:The Charity Fair

November 26, 2018

On November 22nd, 7th and 8th graders held their Charity Fair. All students have looked forward to this upcoming event. Determination filled the air as the students shared one common goal—raising as much money as they could to donate to charity and offering a helping hand to poor children. They were all very, very enthusiastic. In the afternoon, students hurried to their stalls and prepared for business. They sold drinks, snacks, toys, books, and some even set up games. Most were successful and managed to make a large profit, all of which would be donated to charity. Other students shopped around, buying a snack here or there while hungrily stuffing it into their mouths. Some students bought gifts for their family members.

The ASB also organized a “Pie-Face” event, where students could get their faces smashed with shaving cream. It was extremely exciting to watch and brought great joy to the students. A few teachers even volunteered to get themselves “pie-faced”, including Director Ni himself!

There was also a new event this year— the teacher versus student competition. Students could sign up for different games such as arm wrestling and staring contests. Before each game, students would bet on which side—the students or the teachers—would win. Some won, while some lost, but everyone all had an amazing time spectating.

The Charity Fair is a time not only for students to have fun—it also helps them learn about proper money management, the art of business, and most of all, the significance of having kind hearts. It helps them understand that everybody should always provide help to those in need. Overall, this year’s Charity Fair will become a lasting memory.
