Pudong Grade 4: Finance Class—Start a Business on the Mysterious Island

During the CAS class in the afternoon of November 22, teachers from Standard Chartered Bank visited SHSID Pudong Campus to teach the 4th graders an interesting Finance lesson. With the guidance of the teachers, the students discussed the influence occupational changes have on society in the beginning of class. Then, the 4th graders watched the interesting trailer for the movieJourney 2: The Mysterious Island together. After this came the most exciting part of the class: ‘Start a Business on the Mysterious Island’. During this activity, the students were told to assume they were on the Mysterious Island, where they would be tasked with starting a business to make money. The 4th graders showed their plans with abundant imagination. Not only did the visit provide the students with financial knowledge they could not have learned in school, but it also deepened their understanding of managing money and starting a business.
