Pudong Campus: Annual Book Fair
From November 13th to November 14th, the highly-anticipated annual Pudong Campus Book Fair finally took place. The two major exhibitors, Shanghai Book City and Shanghai Foreign Language Book Stores, presented us with a huge assortment of books.
Early in the morning of the 13th, with the careful planning of our librarian Ms. Ren, the exhibitors set up the tables and arranged all the books into orderly categories to await the students and teachers. The book fair officially opened during the afternoon P&B class; 4th and 5th graders were lucky to be the first visitors. At first sight of the dazzling books, everyone couldn’t help but rush directly to the tables and flip through as many books as possible. If they could, each student would have surely loved to take every single book they were interested in back home. The allocated period for G4 and G5 winded down, marking the time for students from G1-G3 to visit. As they walked into the room, they set their eyes on the colorful books as if they were “book hunters”.
Much like previous years, this year’s book fair had both a Chinese section and an English section. In both sections, students could find a wide range of books, including science and nature books, encyclopedias as well as novels and comic books. Books from some well-known publishers like Usborne, DK, and Citic were extremely popular among the students. The book fair lasted for two days so that students didn’t need to worry if they missed some of their “targets” on the first day.
During this enchanting season, let us take this precious opportunity to get captivated in the charm of books and enjoy the fun of reading!
