Grade 9: Assembly -- China Thinks Big Team Aquabank

November 2, 2018

On Oct. 31st, The China Thinks Big team, Aquabank, shared their experience in the competition CTB with the 9th graders during a morning assembly. China Thinks Big is a project that promotes students to research and develop a topic of their interest. Team Aquabank’s project was to study and present the harms of showering too long to persuade people to take shorter showers and save water. They reminded us that 20 standard bottles of water are wasted during every extra minute of a shower. They also explained that showering too long is indeed harmful to our health, telling us to save water as much as we can. They created a WeChat publication of their research and even crafted a product to remind users how long they have showered in order to raise awareness about saving water. At the end of the presentation, Team Aquabank gave the new grade 9 teams some advice on how to form teams—to first decide on a topic when there are only a few people, then attract more members with the topic. Their “painful” personal experience became good advice for the novice participants of CTB.
