Pudong Campus:Students in the Wonderland
Pudong Campus:Students in the Wonderland
On Oct. 25th, 2018, students in SHSID Pudong campus headed for the Shanghai Anderson Paradise for an enlightening field trip. Early in the morning, students all came to the school with both excitement and nervousness, for the weather forecast indicted that it would have a high possibility of precipitation during the day. Luckily, we managed to go to the amusement park for an intensive outdoor exploration. After an approximately 35-minute ride, students arrived with great enthusiasm. In front of them, there was a spacious park with variety of attractions including entertainment facilities, educational museums, animated shows, and experiencing areas. Students then grouped themselves into class units and scattered instantly to immerse themselves with fun and freedom.
As the first graders were having fun with the Little Pirates’ Slides, the second graders went to the activity area for a fun experience with fairy tales. In the meantime, grade three students enjoyed an imaginary football game in the newly-built football court. At the other part of the park, some fourth graders took recess, having their scrumptious homemade lunch, while many fifth graders experienced the VR facilities. When it was the time for departure, students could not stop but ask for more “field trip time.” All students and teachers had a pleasant experience in the Anderson Amusement Park today, not only physically but mentally as well. As students usually mentioned: “I have to play so hard to make a ‘counterpart’ of my hardwork in school!” We hope that from this field trip, students could learn to balance their academic pursuits, as well as their natural inquiry, being a responsible independent learner.
