Economics Department Personal Development Day

Oct. 19th was the teacher professional development day. In the morning, the teachers of the economic department had a faculty seminar in room 211 of the Xianmian Building. The seminar mainly focused on what characteristics we want students to have, and how to spark students' interest in economics. Additionally, the conceptual learning method was introduced, which is to start from a big picture and then move to the smaller details. Students can then have a better understanding of the lesson framework and develop the ability to self-study and complete research. In the afternoon, economics teachers and psychology teachers sat together to discuss the standards of the student competency evaluations in hope of assessing students in a more comprehensive way.
