History and Geography Department Meeting on PD Day

On October 19th, 2018, all of the High School History and Geography teachers met in room 102 of the Xian Mian Building to work on the student evaluation project in two groups. Each group was required to design a sample evaluation for a “certain student” using the 10 competency factors, which include creativity and originality, interpersonal communication, disciplined thinking habits, decision making and management, digital literacy, and global perspective. The teachers discussed each section among themselves and tried to describe a detailed performance in each level based on their experiences and understanding of their students. Some history-based descriptions were also added to rating level guidelines in the 10 indexes. All of the teachers realized the complexity of the evaluation system and the importance of assessing a student in a comprehensive way through discussion and design of the charts and comments.
