Grades 1-8 Sports Week Series Report 1:Tee-ball Competition
Grades 1-8 Sports Week Series Report 1:Tee-ball Competition
Today came the final round of the tee-ball competition! It was a carnival for tee-ball fans in Grade 7 and Grade 8.The teams that competed for the first place were class 7(9) & (10) and 8(3) & (4), with 7(2) & (5) and 8(9) & (10) & (11) competing for the third place award at the same time. All students watched the final round in their PE class; players were led to the soccer field by the teachers to prepare for the round after the bell rang.
The competition was intense. As the game started, the batters tried their best to win more time for their teammates to score points, while the other team (catchers) worked hard to catch their opponent’s ball and pass it to their teammate. Each game was a competition between two teams, with each team consisting of two classes. In this competition, victory requires not simply technique, but also the co-operation and teamwork between the two classes. Students from various classes were cheering for the players, either from their class or other classes. The game grew more exciting and the sounds of cheering and applause filled the soccer field. The championship game was very exciting, and the win went to the team of 7(9) and 7(10), who beat Grade 8! The team of 8(3) and 8(4) got the silver medal. And the team of 8(8), 8(9), 8(10) won the third prize. Congratulations to all of them!
The final result is no longer important to the students and players, as each class tried their best and the players successfully showed their teamwork and sportsmanship during the round. As the first year of SHSID’s 7th and 8th grade tee-ball competition, it belongs to one of the sports meeting activities, with professional tee-ball coaches to teach students how to play. There were three training sessions that took place during lunch time and students learned how to play tee-ball through this form of competition. There are 11 people on each team formed by at least two classes, and each class would choose 4-6 people to participate in the game. The competition took place on the soccer field in the order of: a preliminary round, an eliminatory round and the final.
The tee-ball competition was a great success and a good warm-up activity for sports meet tomorrow. Let’s look forward to the coming sports meet.
