Grade 8: The Art of Sports
Grade 8: The Art of Sports
In the afternoon of Oct. 16th, Grade 7 and Grade 8 showed the art of sports on the soccer field.
First came the march-in performance. Though it began to rain, the students still excitedly waited for their peers performances. As the 7th grade performances ended, the 11 classes of 8th grade showed their talents in dances, such as the gun dance and the driving dance. After the performance of the 8th grade, the SPDC dance club showed off their flashy moves and amazing dances. Soon after was the long-awaited baseball game, with commentators Bob from class 8(2) and Mr. Costello. The baseball game ended with a win to 7th grade. The amazing match brought the opening ceremony to an end.
Then, Mr. Ni gave a spectacular speech and encouraged the students to try their best in the competition. The first event was the 400m race. It was exciting and fascinating with fast runners that ran at an amazing speeds. Then came the medicine ball competition and others. Even though throughout the whole Sports meet the weather changed drastically, all students tried their best and ignored the rain. As the sports came to an end with the relay races, all the students were tired and exhausted. 8(10) got the first prize for boys’ 100 meter relay race and 8(4) won the girls’
100 meter relay race.
All in all, the sports meet was fun and entertaining. I believe all students look forward to another exciting sports meet next year!
