Grade 8: Sports Meet Rehearsal
Grade 8: Sports Meet Rehearsal
It is another chilly fall. The students of SHSID gathered on the tracks on October 11th, and prepared for the annual sports meet. Compared to the previous years, this year’s sports meet will be even more spectacular, as all students work hard to prepare for it. The students collaborated and planned for this event one month ago. The art of sports, which will be performed by two classes together, will be the top show for the eighth graders. This not only adheres to the fashion in the present day, but also reveals the great vitality and youth within all of us. There are diverged opinions for this year’s class-performance topic; some are excited and started to organize the performance willingly; others hesitated, and felt awkward to dance in front of the whole grade. Therefore, the preparations were not a complete success. Some could not catch the beat and vibes, while some simply had trouble. As the date approaches swiftly, all of us had cause to worry about the befalling performances.
How did it turn out? There is only one way to find out. Back at the rehearsal, even though the wind was a little cold, both grades coped using their best effort and maximum spirit. They all marched in an organized manner onto the track. The performances were all well-framed and done with effort. As the music blasted from the speakers, everyone danced and waved their bodies. The dances were not perfect, but it was neat and ordered. Thus, we could distinguish the amount of time they all spent. Due to the limited time, some of the dances were left unfinished, so we will only expect more on the actual sports meet. I have heard that there might be surprises at the end! I have to admit, the quality of the performances on this rehearsal had far exceeded my expectations. Not only the proficiency of the dance, but all the elements within had shown the attitude of the students and the cohesiveness of all eighth graders.
