Primary Subjects Department: It's Alive! Or is it?

In first grade, the students have been making strong adjustments towards the lifestyle and good habits that encapsulate SHSID values.

Their first lesson involved a hands-on approach towards understanding how to use the scientific method via skittles! The next lesson was about utilizing the five senses to learn more about the world around them. This was accomplished in a fun and practical way using one of our most favorite snacks: popcorn! In the activity, students used their five senses to determine the differences between living and nonliving things, as well as what a living organism needs to survive.
