High School Math: AP Calculus Seminar

On September 28th, the High School Math faculty of the international division held their first AP Calculus seminar in the Xianmian Building. Following the first IB seminar this semester, this is part of an ongoing series of professional development activities for teachers. The event consisted of two parts, each of which provided new ideas for teachers currently teaching AP Calculus or those interested. In the first part, experienced teachers Principal Ma Feng and Ms. Zhu Yanjin shared their teaching experiences with the audience. Principal Ma emphasized the importance of formative assessment and student autonomy. In the second part, Ms. Jiang Huihui demonstrated how to embed Mathematical Practice in teaching with an analysis of exercise questions. Stay tuned for more seminars of a variety of topics!
