Pudong Grade 3:Story Moms Are Here!
Pudong Grade 3:Story Moms Are Here!
On September 25, the "Story Moms" brought third graders at Pudong campus a story called The Adventure of Prince Frog to show students the importance of finding oneself and that friendship can flourish where you least expect it.
In the story, the frog - who mistook himself for a prince - went on an adventure in pursuit of happiness. During his adventure, he found his own identity and gained friendship with a stork, his natural predator.
Students learned that although the frog's ultimate dream couldn't come true, he still acquired great wisdom on his journey. While overcoming difficulties, we get to know ourselves better by finding the answers to important questions, such as: What kind of person am I; what am I able to do; what am I supposed to do; when should I give up or persist. When you find yourself, a “dream” is just an accessory, since recognizing and accepting who you are is the true key to success and happiness.
Moreover, students also felt the strong power of friendship. In the story, after finding out the stork is his predator, the frog maintained his relationship with the stork. The students related the story to their own lives. At SHSID, students with different nationalities and different cultural backgrounds come together. Different colored skin or different first languages shouldn’t be an obstacles to developing relationships. Friendship is able to overcome differences in race, religion, and cultures.
