Grades 11-12: ASB Election

On September 19th, 11thand 12thgraders from SHSID gathered in the auditorium to attend the ASB election.Eight high school senior candidates and fourteen junior candidates came onto the stage to deliver their unique 2 minute speeches on their characteristics, achievements, and the reasons why the audience should vote for them. Last year, the ASBs hosted wonderful events that allowed everyone to have fun even in times of stress, including the nostalgic New Year Party and the frightful Freak Show. Many of the candidates promised to upgrade the fun and bring us the best year ever. Let's look forward to an even greater ASB team who will give juniors relief in times of stress, and make the seniors' last year their most memorable!

This year, there were 22 candidates from both grades to the final election. The election included two rounds, the first round was to present a two-minute speech and the second round was to show their talents.

In the first round, candidates used all kinds of unique ways to show their abilities and ideas for the development of ASB. Some of them promised to plan better activities for the school. Also, many of them utilized songs or only said “Vote for me” which attracted the audience and gained applause, laughter and appreciation.

In the second round, students were able to see candidates’ hidden talents. The election ended with cheers; 11thgraders realized the competitiveness in Xianmian Building and voted for potential ASB members after thinking over their abilities.
