Pudong Grade 5: The Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is always one of the most important festivals in the Chinese culture. On Sep. 18th, 2018, the first grade students in SHSID Pudong campus celebrated this grand festival in the Personal Growth class together. In the class, teachers first introduced the basic facts about the Mid-Autumn Festival and what do people usually do on that day, including appreciating the full moon, eating the mooncake, enjoying the family reunion, etc. Students were all excited, as well as touched, by the story behind this festival. Later, students tried to decorate a classic cultural fan themselves, with all the typical Mid-Autumn Festival elements on. While students were enjoying the fun of DIY, they got a deep understanding of the traditional Chinese cultural, preparing them to be a better world citizen.
