Grade 7: A speech made by the founder of WSC

Mr. Daniel Berdichevsky, the founder of World Scholars Cup came to SHSID and introduced WSC to the seventh grade students on September 13th. He also brought the mascot of the World Scholars Cup to the students, an alpaca doll named Jerry. Jerry’s existence is not only a symbol of the game, but also to give comfort and encouragement when the students are nervous before the debate. During the speech, Mr. Daniel Berdichevsky used his sense of humor to invigorate the atmosphere. The students were also more devoted to the speech because of this. At the end of the speech, Mr. Daniel Berdichevsky played a video that introduces the WSC and gave one of the students a “Baby Jerry” as a memento. The speech ended with cheers and joy and it looks like the students became very interested in the World Scholars Cup.
