Puxi Grade 1： Interesting and Efficient Math Class

At SHIS our students have math classes taught in English. To help our students adjust to learning math this way, our grade one math teachers have designed a wide variety of interesting math activities to encourage student engagement and participation in lessons.

Students have used materials such as poker cards, pins, and clips, to learn about numbers both as a whole and as two parts. The students have participated in class-wide, group based, and individual activities during these lessons, allowing them to learn from each other and make friends in the process.

The teachers hope that all of the first graders will enjoy their math class more and more as the semester progresses as this will help develop their math skills and English comprehension.
