Puxi Grade 2: Good personal characters build our super heroes!

Character education is one of the most important contents of the personal growth class. “Super heroes” will be the theme for second grade PG class accompanying with students’ growth. The word “HEROES” actually stands for six traits: H stands for Honesty, E for Encouragement, R for Respectful, O for Organization, E for Excellence and S for Sharing. Second graders are expected to possess these six traits.

On September 12th, second grade teachers introduced the meaning of “superheroes.” This semesters teachers also designed an interesting activity: “Little hero’s diary.” Teachers put a voting box in every class. If one student sees another student do something good related to the superheroes’ traits, they can write their names and the reasons down, then put the paper into the box. Every Friday, teachers will pick a lucky draw from the voting box. The luckiest little hero can bring our class hero pet home and write their own story in the class hero's diary book. Students are very interested in the activity and want to show their best.

In this class, students also watched a video about honesty. They listed honest and dishonest behaviors. We believe that everyone should be an honest citizen.

Everyone will be a superhero with precious traits if you try and persist. We hope the activities and personal growth classes can help them grow up into a better person.
