Pudong Grades 1- 4：Friday Club Presentation

On September 7th, 2018, students shared a unique type of lesson on this Friday in our new auditorium, where more than 20 teachers come to the stage and presented to students their projects and products. These projects range in various aspects, including: handicrafts like Lego Building and 3D puzzles; academic stimulation like Literacy Reading and Poem Appreciation; art enhancement like Classic Music and Color Painting; and more. Those presentations were so exciting that students just could not wait to join these projects. This amazing lesson is actually the first presentation for the Friday Club on Pudong campus, a student-oriented lesson where they take maximal initiative in learning on every Friday. In today’s special “edition,” all the teachers promoted their lesson in order to enroll new students. After students finished listening to teachers’ speeches, they would pick one of their favorite courses according to their interests. What attracts students’ enthusiasm for the Friday Club is that in this lesson, students are responsible for themselves, including deciding which project they want to explore, what kind of outcome they want to produce, and more. Since teachers only provide minimal assistance during the whole process, they only presented students’ outcomes today. During this process, we cultivated, as well as maintained students ‘independent learning ability in this special course, which is beneficial in the long term for them. What an interesting experience for students to bloom.
