Grade 11: First Junior Assembly
Grade 11: First Junior Assembly
On September 6th, the new juniors gathered in the XMT annex auditorium for their first weekly assembly. Still excited to meet all of their friends again, students wandered from class to class before the bell rang and immediately seated themselves as Ms. Gu arrived on the stage to host the assembly.
A surprise was offered to the juniors who had not yet cooled down from the scholarship awarding ceremony: certificates for Rapid Development, Good Behavior and Good Fitness were handed out for the students who had proved their worth during the sophomore years. More importantly, the teachers from the writing center were also introduced to the students for the first time. As high school is rising to its apex with various AP and IB assignments, as well as college applications, the teachers from the writing center will provide a great resource provided by the school for the students. Moreover, instead of simply being a notice, this also acts as a reminder for the juniors that they are no longer sophomores and preparations for universities should begin.
Nonetheless, it is still a wonderful beginning for the new arrivals to XMT and congratulations again for the winners of the prizes!
