Grade 11: Scholarship Award Ceremony

On the afternoon of September 5th, the long-anticipated Scholarship Award Ceremony of the 2017-2018 School Year took place in the auditorium. Among those attending were students from Grades 11-12, teachers, directors, and parents.

The ceremony commenced with a speech from Ms. GuYing, Head Teacher of Grade 11. She emphasized the achievements of scholarship recipients and encouraged the greater student body to be more active in academic and social events. Her speech was proceeded by the awarding of four different types of scholarships: the Social Activity Award, Academic Award, Individual Outstanding Award, and Principal’s List Award.

Then, student representative Tiffany Hung delivered a speech on behalf of the Social Activity Award recipients. She described how her various extracurricular activities and leadership roles enhanced her overall performance and stressed how it is possible for all students to unearth their true passions.

Following Tiffany’s speech, a special guest was invited on stage to deliver the prestigious Dartmouth Book Award, an annual award that recognizes high school students for stellar academic performance and merit. This year’s recipient was Audney Guo, a senior, who subsequently expressed her immense gratitude for receiving the award and recounted her academic experience in the past three years of high school.

Congratulations to all scholarship recipients! As for the rest of the student body, keep striving harder—the best is yet to come.
