Pudong Grade 3: Float or Sink?

On Thursday, September 6th, the 3rd graders on Pudong campus explored the secret of buoyancy.

At the beginning of the science class, the teacher introduced the definition of buoyancy and density. Then the students started a fun and engaging experiment. The students put the fruits into the water by order, and recorded every result. When a boy put the melon into the water, all the students were surprised by the fact that the melon was floating in the water. After that, when a blueberry sank to the bottom, every student realized that buoyancy is not just related to size, but also density and area. This class culminated with a delicious fruit snack. Learning from the fun activities is always the most enjoyable way to learn!
